The Stewpot provides very real hunger relief, medical and dental care, and casework assistance which alleviate human suffering at its central core. Over the past 32 years, The Stewpot has served more than 2,459,056 meals. A conservative estimate of the value of meals provided easily exceeds $5.5 million dollars.

Statistics are also tracked on identification documentations; travel assistances; prosthetics treatments; medical visits; and drug and alcohol counseling sessions! Participants in The Stewpot’s Transitional Employment Program (STEP) receive help with applications, clothing, Community Voice Mail, DART passes, interview preparation, resumes, and other supports as they search for full-time jobs. 70% of STEP clients have work when they complete the program. Street Zine, The Stewpot’s homeless newspaper, provides opportunities for transitional employment.
As for future, the Stewpot's children and youth programs provide year round programs for 1st-12th graders, plus basic college tuition assistance for any former participant who wants to go to college. The result? This Fall 2007, 8 out of 10 of our High School Seniors are making plans to go to college.
