The Stewpot offers several programs specifically for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. We can help you get legal ID so you can join a housing program, sign a lease, obtain employment, access medical care, and, if you have school-age children, enroll them in school. A mailing address allows you to receive important correspondence, and stay in touch with loved ones.
Identification assistance
Identification Documentation assistance is provided by Stewpot caseworkers who can order school records, marriage licenses, birth certificates, and other vital records to help you obtain legal state IDs and qualify for housing programs.
- New Clients (non-referral) are screened for eligibility on a first-come-first serve basis for same-day appointments. These appointments begin at 1 PM and slots fill up quickly. Typically, 10-15 clients are seen each afternoon, depending on staff availability. Bring as much identifying information with you as possible.
- Returning Clients (who have already been assigned a case manager) can return Monday to Thursday, 8 AM to 11 AM for follow-up appointments.
- Referral Clients can be seen Thursday afternoon and all day Friday.
- Thursday afternoon is reserved for Coordinated Access System Enrollments (CAS) enrollments. If you are a case manager with a client on the CAS list, please reach out to Housing Forward to learn how to sign them up.
- Fridays are reserved for our partner agencies. If you are with an agency interested in becoming a partner agency, please reach out to the Director of Housing and Homeless Services.
Please complete the form at the bottom of the page if you require more information.

Please complete the form at the bottom of the page if you require more information.
Please note: Stewpot services listed as benefiting people experiencing homelessness are for individuals or families who have been sleeping in a place not meant for human habitation (e.g., living on the streets, in a car, in an abandoned building, etc.) and/or in an emergency shelter/Safe Haven. If you have been staying at a shelter, please bring a letter from the shelter with you to The Stewpot.
